It finally dried out enough that they could do the dirt work for the garage. They are leveling the ground tonight and laying gravel tomorrow. BJ is so excited that he will be able to unload all of his "man junk" off of his trailers and into his new garage this weekend!

New Lighting
I'm so excited! My new lighting arrived today and we got it put up. I got a new chandelier for the dining room and one in the eat in kitchen. The one that I got for the dining room is wrought iron and the eat in kitchen fixture is punched tin. Now the light fixtures match my primitive decor much, much better!

Kitchen Update
I spent my Sunday painting the kitchen. I stayed with a color that was pretty close to what was already there so it only took one coat but it freshened it up a lot. The color is more of a gingerbread color that what was on the wall before and it matches really well. I am happy with it and even more happy that I am done! I ordered my chandeliers today so hopefully I can get BJ to put them up over the weekend!
Happy 11th Birthday Sam!
Today we headed to Quincy to celebrate Sam's 11th birthday. She and Alex both took friends and we went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, to Bonkers and to feed the deer at the Veteran's Home then wrapped up the day at DQ.
My nephew, Josh, lives in Quincy so he joined us for lunch. This is probably the last time I will get to spend time with him because he is moving to STL in July to go to college.
Sam got lots of candy and some cash... cash is always an excellent gift choice with Sam, especially since she is trying to save up for an iphone!
These two monkeys love to climb! If the get together at the house they are always climbing trees!
One of Alex's friends came along to keep her occupied.
The girls really enjoyed feeding the deer and were amazed that they could even pet them!
I warned them that geese were unfriendly, but Laura decided to "test the waters" with a foot!
Photo op!
The Veteran's Home has old WWII machinery so the kids had to show off their acting abilities!

The neighborhood dog walker!
Alex has quickly become the social butterfly in our new neighborhood! She immediately buddied up with the neighbor across the alley and absolutely loves his dog, Petey! She spent most of the afternoon out walking our dog, Zoey, and Petey up and down the alley!
House Update
I put the finishing touches on the house today. I have all of my pictures hung and everything put away. We made a trip to Lowes this weekend to get some little things that the house needed, some new doorknobs, towel holders etc. I have some new lighting to hang in the formal dining room and the eat in kitchen but BJ probably won't get around to doing that until the weekend. The contractors are finishing up the garage today, with the exception of laying gravel because it is still too wet. I also still have to paint the kitchen, but I think I am going to go back with the same color and just freshen it up.
Living Room
Formal Dining Room
This chandelier is going to be replaced, this one is pretty but just too fancy for my country decor.
Eat-In Kitchen
I have a chandelier to put here that will match the one in the formal dining area.
Family Room
I want to get a large braided area rug for this rug to cover some of the red stains that the carpet cleaners couldn't get to come out.
Sam's Room
Alex's Room
Master Bedroom
Master Bath
J.O.B Construction built the garage for us and we have been very happy with their work so if anyone needs anything done, give them a call!

House Moved... now the garage!
We started at 8 a.m. this morning and we got the house completely moved by noon, I think that's pretty good! Now BJ has to go move the garage stuff. The garage was supposed to be done by today but with all of the rain, the contractor was unable to put the gravel down on the wet dirt so hopefully with a roof over it and a few hot days he will be able to lay the gravel by Wednesday! I spent the day unpacking and I only have a few boxes left and still have to hang pictures. Knowing how obsessive compulsive I am, it will be done by Sunday!
This is what the garage looked like at 8 a.m. this morning. I will post a picture of the completed project later.
I think my neighbor has put in just as many hours building the garage as the contractors!

Starting to resemble a garage!
The structure is starting to resemble an actual garage! I can't wait until they start to put the siding and roof on, should be tomorrow! I got 3 more loads moved today, this should be a pretty easy move for BJ!

The beginnings of a Garage!
Despite the massive rain this morning, the builders got the posts set for the garage today. They still say that it will be completed by Saturday but if we see more rain like today it may not be possible! I have moved approximately 8 to 10 truckloads of stuff over to the new house so by Saturday we should probably only have large furniture left to move! I can't wait! I am so ready to have my own house again that I can decorate and be totally obsessed with keeping clean and perfect!

Sleepovers!
Both girls have friends sleeping over tonight. They went down to the horses for a while, played outside, and now Alex and her friend, Evey, are in bed eating popcorn and watching T.V. Sam and her friend, Alexandra, have been catching lightning bugs and are now playing in the rain! It's going to be a long night!!!

Alex's birthday celebration
Alex decided that for her birthday celebration, she wanted to buy the Flicka 2 movie and have some friends over for pizza and a movie. One of her friends was unable to make it but she had her other 2 close friends over. They played, ate pizza and cake and ice cream, watched Flicka 2 and ate popcorn. I'm not sure that they saw much of the movie... three 7 year old little girls aren't calm or quiet long enough to actually watch a movie!

Progress!
Finally, the drywall contractor/painter finished up! I was able to start moving some things in yesterday and today. The garage builders are set to come Saturday and have assured me that the garage will be finished by next Saturday, the 13th. So if all goes as planned, we should be living there by the 14th!
This is Sam's room. She picked out her funky colors herself and her room is almost complete. I had Kern's Carpet Cleaners out of Hannibal clean the carpets and I must say, they do a very good job!
This is Alex's room. She picked out the paint color for both of the girls' bedrooms. I later found out that she didn't pick it because she liked the color, rather that she liked the name... creamy camel. Oh well, it turned out nice, anyway! We haven't gotten much of Alex's stuff in her room yet but it will be decorated with a horse theme.
I painted the bathroom myself and as soon as I get settled in I am going to paint the lower half of the living room/dining room and the kitchen.
